SVP of Digital Crisis, Edelman
Aaron Walker is senior vice president of digital crisis in Edelman’s Crisis and Issues practice. His expertise is in the intersection of crisis and digital environments, creating wide-reaching strategies to address issues such as privacy, viral attacks, and cyber beaches. Prior to Edelman, he served as a vice president at Dezenhall Resources, where he offered counsel on media relations and directed work in public affairs, strategy and issues management, and media training. One of his key clients was a national nursing home/hospice chain facing severe legal and reputational issues in multiple states across the U.S. As a senior manager with R3 Consulting, Mr. Walker served as the senior communications and public affairs counselor to the Chief Financial Officer and Undersecretary of Management of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), providing communications counsel to the highest levels of DHS leadership. Throughout his career, he has managed numerous high profile clients, such as Wal-Mart, GM and Exxon. In the government sector, he was the press secretary and national spokesman for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). His mandate was to assist in rehabilitating the image of FEMA post Hurricane Katrina while serving as a senior counselor to the FEMA Administrator.
