Chief-of-Staff for Congressman Cedric Richmond
Virgil serves as the chief-of-staff for Congressman Cedric Richmond (D-New Orleans). He is responsible for keeping the “trains running efficiently and on time” in the office, briefing the member on legislative and administrative matters, interacting with constituents, meeting with stakeholders, and overseeing the overall direction of the office. He also assists in coordinating the Congress member’s political operations. Prior legislative branch experience includes working for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce; the office of Rep. John D. Dingell (MI-District 15), the dean of the U.S. House of Representatives; and the office of Rep. Ed Towns (NY-District 10). While working on his master’s degree (Florida A&M University), he interned with then-Rep. Curtis Richardson (D-Tallahassee).
